Wedding in Gaucín | Hayley & Josh

I am a nature lover, of the countryside, of tranquility… which is why I was so keen to show this wedding in Gaucín, a pretty village on the Costa del Sol. When I arrived at Josh's preparations early in the morning, I couldn't believe that everything in Gaucin was like that. With that tranquility and serenity.

Hayley & Josh were incredibly close at all times, authentic, calm, relaxed, excited. I'm sure I've repeated it so many times... but I can't help it because it's what I always always recommend: That day is to enjoy, so... relax, you've had a long way to get here, now enjoy!

And that's what they did. They and all the family. The emotion was felt in the air and accompanied us to the highest tower in Gaucín. I really couldn't believe where they were celebrating their wedding and how magical and authentic everything was. It was like traveling to another time and capturing something unique.

Hayley & Josh officiated their wedding in the old church of Gaucin, known as El Castillo del Aguila, surrounded by friends, family, and rocks, rocks that held stories and that, now that I review the images and while I write this text, I feel as if those rocks were saying: life is a journey, so let's enjoy that we are here, of each step, let's live the moment.

It is undoubtedly one of the most special wedding ceremonies I have had, and it was lucky to be able to share it with all of them and with the Sol, my wedding companion that day.

After the ceremony, we were on the main beach, eating at Casa Antonia's restaurant and ended up continuing the wedding celebration at Finca de la Roca in Gaucin.

What can I say, having been able to be a wedding photographer at Finca de la Roca is quite an experience. It is a perfect place. And although there was a bit of rain (actually quite a lot, we had a storm right above us for 1 hour), Hayley & Josh did something that, I believe, was the best idea I have seen at a wedding, although I must admit that in Spain something like this would cause strangeness.

But, the future is for the brave, right? So they dared to take a little Andalusian nap between lunch and dinner, a moment when the storm passed overhead, and then, as if by magic, the sun came out, even more radiant than before.

So, perhaps the storm was part of the story that Hayley & Josh were destined to tell at their wedding. An unexpected chapter that made their day even more memorable.

The phrase "everything happens for a reason" was one of the most heard in 2023. And as I write these lines, I can't help but reflect on how unexpected challenges often turn into the most precious memories.

In short, Hayley & Josh showed that the courage to live the moment can transform any obstacle into a fundamental part of their love story.

Thank you for everything, couple, I'm glad to have been your wedding photographer in Gaucín and Finca de la Roca, I'm looking forward to returning! There are many stories in Gaucín that must be told.
