Maternity session in Stockholm, Sweden | J&M
“We shall not cease from exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time.”
I’ve always thought of travelling as an internal action, something that changes you. Taking a boat, an airplane or a car and traveling hundreds or thousands of kilometers means nothing if you haven’t changed when you’re back. You can travel by opening a book, visiting a lovely corner of your city or watching a film. You just need to be perceptive about the change and to look for those mechanisms that encourage it.
I met again Jessica & Miguel for this Maternity session in Stockholm, Sweden. I had the pleasure of being their wedding photographer in Malaga, and now, almost a year after their wedding, I’m doing a session for their pregnancy. So yes, I feel like a true family photographer.
They both live there and they didn’t want to travel during the last months of the pregnancy. What a better excuse for a trip to the northern lands! I got to know them better during this trip, and now I feel their story from within.
I had a vague idea of how northern countries work but this time I could see it in person. Even though it was brief, I feel I took a part of it with me: a bit of peace and relaxation. I guess a part of me remained there. That’s how this works: share, exchange and go back to the beginning to close the circle.
Thank you for everything. I can’t wait to see the next part of your story!
